Seattle-based coffee retailer Starbucks has responded to claims it is planning to open a venue in Oakham.

Social media in Rutland has featured speculation that the global chain is planning an opening on or around the by-pass, close to the new McDonald's that is currently under construction.

A company spokesman told us: "We are always looking for new locations and opportunities to bring the Starbucks Experience to customers in the UK, but at this time we have no updates to share about plans at Oakham."
