Launching last year, September marks Suicide Prevention Month, encouraging real conversations about mental health and suicide, as well as asking governments and councils to better support those affected by suicide.

There are multiple organisations, groups, charities and resources in Rutland and the surrounding area that can support individuals struggling with their mental health and their loved ones.

P3 Rutland

P3 Rutland mental health and wellbeing service is for people in Rutland aged 18 or over which provides information, advice and guidance to help those struggling with their mental health to improve and maintain their mental health and wellbeing.

To find out more about P3 and the support they offer, visit their website, email Rutland [email protected] or call 07923 169 469 from Monday to Friday 9am to 5.30pm.

RISE

The RISE team are part of the Rutland County Council neighbourhood approach, offering social prescribing and other services.

Social prescribing is the highlighting and signposting of groups, organisations or services that could be helpful, dependant on the needs and circumstance of each individual.

They also have a dedicated Mental Health Care Manager, who specialises in supporting people with a range of mental health related issues.

For more information and to refer yourself for support, use the Joy Social Prescribing app, email [email protected] or call 011572 758 850.

Neighbourhood Mental Health Cafes

With multiple Neighbourhood Mental Health Cafes across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland, these free, drop-in cafes provide a safe space to find company, speak to trained and supportive staff, meet other people who are also struggling and be signposted to other options for care or support.

According to the NHS, these mental health cafes 'can helo make plans to enable you to feel safer, as well as explaining who you can turn to for help in your local community.

'Alongside emotional support, we'll also work with you to help you manage your own mental health so that you can start to feel more in control.'

Local Mental Health Cafes to Oakham include:
