Oakham: Tea in a Country Garden in Support of Sue Ryder Thorpe Hall Hospice

Jane and Tony Bews are opening their lovely country garden, Shapinsay, Lyndon Road, Manton, Rutland on Sunday 29th August from 2.00 to 5.00pm raise vital funds for Sue Ryder, Thorpe Hall Hospice.

Jane said: "We have seen the excellent support Thorpe Hall provides to people with life-limiting conditions and to their families. We also understand that Coronavirus has hit fundraising this year with many events cancelled so this is our effort to help this excellent charity."

Amy Hall, Community Fundraiser at Sue Ryder Thorpe Hall Hospice, said: "Thank you so much to Jane and Tony Bews for choosing to support Sue Ryder Thorpe Hall Hospice and for raising vital funds through the Tea in a Country Garden event.

"Your kind support helps us to be able to continue to offer our compassionate palliative care and bereavement support to local families – and fill someone's last days with love."

Entry Tickets are £5 and include tea and cake.

Sue Ryder supports people through the most difficult times of their lives. Its doctors, nurses and carers give people the compassion and expert care they need to help them live the best life they possibly can.

Sue Ryder Thorpe Hall Hospice provides expert care and support for people who are living with life-limiting conditions, and is also there for their loved ones.

It is the only specialist palliative care inpatient unit in Peterborough.

Its multi-disciplinary team includes doctors, nurses, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, complementary therapy, bereavement counsellors and spiritual support.

Sue Ryder Thorpe Hall Hospice offers a variety of services, including a Hospice at Home service for people who prefer to receive palliative care at home and family and bereavement support.
