By The Editor 16th Sep 2019

A 19-year-old man is due to appear in court charged with criminal damage after a spate of graffiti vandal attacks in Uppingham.

Lloyd Griffiths, of HMP Nottingham, is due to appear at Leicester Magistrates' Court on Friday, 4 October charged with nine counts of criminal damage and four counts of breaching a restraining order.

A Leicestershire Police spokesman said: "The charges of criminal damage relate to incidents in Uppingham where graffiti was left on buildings between 27 August and 10 September."

Stamford has also been targeted by graffiti vandals in the last week.

On Wednesday (11 Sept) a 19-year-old man was arrested by Lincolnshire Police in Stamford on suspicion of criminal damage following graffiti being scrawled at numerous locations across the town on September 4.

He was later released under investigation.
