Ukrainian Rotary Club charity concert raises £1,000 for Rutland Community First Responders

The Ukrainian Rotary Impact Club of Rutland have successfully raised £1,000 for Rutland Community First Responders, giving vital funds to support the volunteer-led initiative supporting the East Midlands Ambulance Service.
The funds were raised through the group's March charity concert which bought together local and Ukrainian communities for a fantastic night of live music, solidarity and strength, all raising money for a great cause.

One of the club's co-founders Nadia Tikhonova said: "We are incredibly proud to support the Rutland First Responders. These volunteers give up countless hours each week to respond swiftly to medical emergencies, often arriving before ambulances. Their dedication saves lives in our community, and we're honoured to contribute."
Their dedicated fundraising efforts in the community reflects the Club's dual commitment: to serve the Rutland community and continue delivering humanitarian aid to Ukraine. As an Impact Club operating with the support of Rutland Rotary, both goals are inspired by Rotary's core values of Service Above Serlf, international cooperation and peacebuilding.
The club is continuing their fundraising in August with a sponsored abseil to help send life-changing mobility aids to war-affected people in Ukraine. They hope to raise £2,000 towards sending wheelchairs to Ukraine where many children, elderly and injured people are left without the essential equipment they need to move, recover and life their lives with dignity and independence.
