Severn Trent Water are at the top of Stamford Road this morning, Friday 26 May, attending to an unexpected issue with the water main.

Low pressure is impacting households across the area, including homes located in between Kilburn End and the fields roads - Foxfield and Springfield Way, as well as the adjoining roads and cut-de-sacs.

This has resulted in low pressure across the North and North West side of Oakham and the neighbouring Barleythorpe.

Severn Trent said that there are unexpected supply problems going on in the area, adding: "We're now working to get the problem fixed

"We're sorry it's taken longer than we'd planned to fix this. We're working hard to make sure this is done as quickly as possible."

The most common causes for supply interruptions are bursts, home plumbing problems and network issues, including:

  • an unseen, internal or external leak
  • an air lock or blockage in the pipework
  • faulty plumbing work

You can reach Severn Trent on 0800 7834444.
