Rutland County Council is reminding residents, businesses, community organisations and visitors that there is just one week left to have their say on the county's future transport plans.

The consultation on the updated draft local transport plan, Moving Rutland Forward, closes on Friday 16 October 2026, and the council is encouraging anyone who has not yet responded to share their views before the deadline.

The draft local transport plan sets out the council's long-term vision for transport in Rutland and will help guide how the county's transport network is planned, managed and invested in through to 2036.

The council says a wide range of transport issues that affect people across Rutland are covered, including walking, wheeling and cycling, public transport, roads, parking, road safety, electric vehicle infrastructure and access to jobs, education, healthcare and other essential services.

The local authority wants views on the overall vision for transport in Rutland, the proposed themes and policies, and whether there are any other issues or priorities that should be reflected in the final plan.

"While not every improvement can be delivered immediately, the local transport plan will provide an important framework for future transport policies, investment priorities and funding bids," a council statement said.
