There's loads going on this weekend with a host of events taking place in and around Oakham and Rutland this weekend, from The Hoosiers free mini-concert to a string quartet performance.

Django in the Bay 2025

This years return of Django in the Bay 2025 will take place this weekend at Rutland Water between Friday 23rd and Sunday 25th May.

Celebrating the timeless sounds of Django Reinhardt and Stéphane Grappelli at this unique festival set on the beautiful shores of Rutland Water.

The three-day celebration includes world-class live music, incredible views and relaxed outdoor festival vibes, all topped off with delicious local food and drink.

The Hoosiers Live In-Store Show at Rock-a-Buy Records

Rock-a-Buy records will be hosting an intimate night with multi-platinum selling indie-pop heroes, The Hoosiers.

After On The Green Festival being cancelled, The Hoosiers 'thought it would be only right and a bit fun to do a pop-up gig at the nearest record shop for fans who were planning to come to our festival show. It'll be intimate and a squeeze, however, we are delighted to say that the amazing people at Rock-a-Buy Records will be hosting our free gig on Saturday 24th May.'

They will be performing at this FREE concert from 9pm with backing from a Vinyl DJ.

Music in Lyddington

On Saturday 24th May from 7.30pm, The Piatti Quartet will be playing at St. Andrew's Church in Lyddington as part of the Music in Lyddington concert series.

The brilliant string quartet will play pieces by Borodin, Puccini, Tchaikovsky and Harding

Uppingham Outdoor Plant Sale

On Sunday 25th May, between 10.30am and 2pm, Uppingham Community College Sports Field will be holding an outdoor plant sale, featuring 'unusual, well-grown and reasonably priced plants.'

Organised by the Rutland branch of the Hardy Branch Society, the sale will include stalls from specialist nurseries with high quality plants and garden accessories.

Live singing at The Plough in Greetham

Greetham's own Rachel is performing at The Plough from Saturday night from 8.30pm.

Performing a variety of songs from past and present, including definately some disco hits, this event is free entry and asks attendees to wear their dancing shoes for a brilliant night of live music.

Thursday Night Dinner at Fox and Hounds

The team at The Fox & Hounds in Knossington be hosting their weekly Thursday night special on 22nd May. This week they are serving up THREE delicious burger options.

On the menu this week they have:

  • The Foxy Hunter Burger - A charred Beef Patty with smoky bacon, applewood cheese, bourbon barbecue and crispy onions
  • Uncle Sam's Bad Boy Burger - A charred patty with smoky beef chilli, mozerella and crispy onions
  • Cheeky Blue Piggy Burger - Herby prime beef patty with cashel blue mayo, smoky bacon and barbecue sauce.

For just £12.95, every week they put on a popular meal deal, and you can head down to 6 Somerby Road, Knossington to join the fun.
