There's loads going on this weekend with a host of events taking place in and around Oakham and Rutland this weekend.

Potfest at Melton Mowbray Agricultural Mart

Potfest is a huge artisan market celebrating all things pottery. Featuring over 100 talented ceramics artists and pottery makers, there's sure to be something for everyone (as long as you like pottery).

See the work of the well-established alongside the up-and-coming, in an exciting mix of the sophisticated and the raw power of the next generation, combined in a bustling arts market marketplace.

This event runs from 3pm to 7pm on Friday 1st November and 10am to 4pm on Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd November.

Tickets are £4 for adults and accompanied under 16s go free.

Rock of Ages at Stamford Corn Exchange Theatre

Five-time Tony Award-nominated musical, Rock of Ages, will take audiences back to the 1980s where big bands with big egos played big guitar solos with even bigger hair. The story follows small-town girl 'Sherrie' and city boy 'Drew' as they navigate the world of Rock.

Filled with all your favourite 80s rock anthems, this show will ROCK Stamford Corn Exchange Theatre from 31st October to 2nd November 2024.

Vino and Vinyl at Oakham Enterprise Park

Celebrate two of Oakham's incredible small businesses for this evening of vino and vinyl.

Combining Bat and Bottle wine importers with Brian Webster's warehouse of secondhand records, CDs, tapes and books, this free to attend event will allow visitors to browse both warehouses, checking out a great selection of records and trying some great wine.

This event is on 2nd November 10am - 4pm at warehouses 18B and 18D at Oakham Enterprise Park.

Rutland Lions Annual Fireworks at Rutland Show Ground

Rutland Lions Firework Display returns to Rutland Show Ground for another year of fantastic fireworks, great local food and a lively community atmosphere.

This event includes two fabulous firework displays from 1st Galaxy Fireworks, as well as hot food from Roaming Giraffe Events and the rugby club bar.  

Tickets are still available at a discounted price or can be purchased full price on the day and upon entry.

Festive Fayre at Rutland Garden Centre

On the 2nd and 3rd November, Rutland Garden Centre will host their annual Christmas event, with other 50 stalls of craft and gift sellers, perfect for some early Christmas shopping or buying yourself a little treat!

There will also be a brass band in attendance, as well as Rutland Outdoor Pursuits bringing some owls on the Sunday.

Robert Tregay will also be attending on Saturday, signing his new book Barefoot Sunday.

Cottesmore Firework Night at Cottesmore Village Hall

If you can't get enough of fireworks, or missed out on Saturday, Cottesmore Village Hall is hosting their Firework Night on Sunday 3rd November.

With a professional fireworks display, fairground stalls, a bbq and bar, tickets to this event are currently discounted at £8 for an adult and £2 for a child. On the day, prices will increase to £10 per adult and £2.50 for a child.

Thursday Night Dinner at Fox and Hounds

Fox and Hounds are serving up a delicious beef masala curry this week (Fox and Hounds).

The team at The Fox & Hounds in Knossington be hosting their weekly Thursday night special on 24 October, and this week the team are serving up Caribbean-style pulled beef masala curry with red peppers, rice and peas, pickles, poppadoms & mango onion chutney.

For just £12.95, every week they put on a popular meal deal, and you can head down to 6 Somerby Road, Knossington to join the fun.
