There's loads going on this weekend with a host of events taking place in and around Oakham and Rutland this weekend, from garage sales to cinema screenings, historic re-enactment and more.

Thelma Cinema for Rutland Showing

On 3rd July 2025, Arts for Rutland will return with another Cinema for Rutland at Rutland County Museum. This week they will be showing Thelma, the story of an elderly grandmother who becomes an unlikely action hero. When she loses $10,000 to a con artist on the phone, she embarks on a treacherous journey across LA with her friend and his motorised scooter to reclaim what is here.

Vino and Vinyl

Vino and Vinyl will return to Oakham Enterprise Park on Saturday 5th July, between 10am til 4pm.

This event, which is being held by Brian Webster, Vinyls retailer extraordinaire, with Bath and Bottle Wine. This event gives music lovers the opportunity to browse a great selection of vinyl with some delicious Italian wine.

Oakham History Fair

On Saturday 5th July, Oakham Castle and Rutland County Museum will be offering a FREE fun-filled day of hands on activities, re-enactments, expert talks and living history.

This event is fully free to attend and will run between 10am and 4pm.

Whissendine Garage Sale Trail

If you love a garage sale and hunting for a bargain, on Sunday 6th July between 10 and 4pm, over 15 garages across Whissendine as part of Whissendine Feast Week.

Maps will be available on the village green to find all the brilliant garage spots. There will also be Open Gardens in the village and refreshments in the village hall.

Thursday Night Dinner at Fox and Hounds

The team at The Fox & Hounds in Knossington be hosting their weekly Thursday night special on 3rd July. This week they are serving up two delicious options.

The first option is Mutton curry with flat bread, rice and peas, pineapple and chilli pickle.

The second option is a Jamaican jerk spiced chicken burger with chilli and coconut slaw, bacon jamin and Cajun chips.

For just £12.95, every week they put on a popular meal deal, and you can head down to 6 Somerby Road, Knossington to join the fun.
