Woman robber with scissors threatens store assistant in Uppingham

An shop assistant in a Rutland newsagents was threatened by a robber with a pair of scissors.

The incident happened at around 3.20pm on Sunday March 8 at Dillon's Newsagents on High Street West, Uppingham.

Leicestershire Police told Nub News: "A woman went into the shop and threatened a member of staff with a pair of scissors.

"The member of staff handed over cash from the till and the woman left the shop on foot, taking the cash, cigarettes and bottles of alcohol.

"Enquiries into the incident are ongoing and no arrests have been made at this time."

The woman, who stole £400 plus stock, was said to be around 30-years old.
