Rutland and Leicestershire Police are investigating the mysterious death of a woman who died in Oakham.

Leicestershire Police received a call yesterday (23 June) at around 6pm from East Midlands Ambulance Service to a report of a woman in her thirties unwell at an address in Bullfinch Close, Oakham.

Police officers continue to carry out proactive patrols in the Oakham area as the Light and Life event concludes.

Leicestershire Police have been working closely with Rutland County Council and other partners during the past week to provide advice and guidance to organisers, to respond to incidents reported and to assist with traffic management.

Rutland has recorded a sharp rise in case numbers of Covid-19 today.

But once more, there were no deaths.

Oakham Town Council has cancelled several of its summer band concerts.

The council has said in a statement: "We are incredibly disappointed to inform you that we have been forced to cancel the band concert planned for Sunday 27th June at Cutts Close Park in Oakham.
