Oakham Rugby Football Club will face Oakham Cricket Club in a friendly game, set to take place tonight at Oakham Cricket Club.

It is that time of year once more for The Mighty Oaks to hang up their boots for another season.

However, as the rugby season comes to an end, the cricket season gets into full swing, and Oakham Cricket Club like to warm up for the season with an unusual series of friendlies - against the local rugby team.

Unable to resist an evening running about - often with a beer in hand - the Mighty Oaks answer their call.

In a now annual series of games, Oakham RFC join the cricketers for a handful of friendly evening matches throughout the season at their Brooke Road grounds.

Last season, Oakham Cricket Club came out on top at their first match, but Oakham RFC came through to secure a surprise win against the cricket club in the following game.

Having just come off of a successful season with new head coach, Tim Andrews, ORFC are fitter than ever, despite a handful of injuries that left seasoned players on the sidelines for the last few games of the season.

However, will this be enough to secure another victory for the lads, or will Oakham Cricket Club come out on top in this first friendly game of the season?

The game kicks off tonight, Monday 15 May, at 5:30pm at Oakham Cricket Club, Brooke Road, Oakham, LE156HH.
