Tesserae is a quartet of female voices based in Leicestershire. They have sung together for several years as part of the octet Mosaic. The name Tesserae is a nod to their origins: tesserae are the individual tiles that make up a mosaic. They all sing with a range of other choral groups across the Midlands and are often invited to perform as soloists. Tesserae perform a wide variety of music from the sacred to the secular, the old-age to the contemporary, exploring the contrasts and connections between pieces.
