Crazy Bingo brings its unique night out back to Melton Mowbray

Melton Mowbray is getting ready for a rather different kind of bingo night when Crazy Bingo returns to The Stockyard on Saturday 10th October.

But anyone expecting a quiet evening of listening for numbers and politely marking off a bingo card may be in for a surprise.

Crazy Bingo combines bingo with a party night, throwing together big tunes, ridiculous prizes, singalongs, dance-offs, audience participation and plenty of unexpected moments along the way.

Hosted by Bingo Bob and Disco Dave, the night takes the familiar game of bingo and gives it a rather less traditional makeover.

There are still bingo cards, there are still numbers and, eventually, somebody does shout "house". What happens between those moments is rather harder to predict.

One minute guests could be concentrating on their numbers, the next the whole room may be singing along to a song they haven't heard for years. There could be dancing, competitions, questionable displays of talent, spontaneous audience participation and the chance to win prizes that nobody knew they wanted until they saw them.

And that's rather the point.

Crazy Bingo isn't designed to be a serious bingo session. It's a night out with friends that just happens to have bingo running through the middle of it.

The event has already attracted a strong response, with only a limited number of tickets now remaining for the Melton Mowbray date.

The organisers say the appeal comes from never quite knowing what is going to happen next.

While Bingo Bob attempts to keep some kind of order over proceedings, Disco Dave provides the soundtrack, with familiar party tracks, singalong favourites and plenty of opportunities for the audience to get involved.

The result is a room full of people playing bingo one moment and on their feet the next.

With the 10th October event approaching, anyone planning to join the party at The Stockyard is being encouraged not to leave booking until the last minute.

Because while it is possible to predict when Crazy Bingo starts, predicting exactly what will happen once Bingo Bob and Disco Dave get going is considerably more difficult.
