There were 8 positive cases of COVID-19 in Rutland on Tuesday.

The UK coronavirus dashboard latest figures include 137 new cases in Lincolnshire, 49 in North Lincolnshire and 40 in North East Lincolnshire.

Also among the districts, South Kesteven recorded 17 new cases today and no deaths.

Rutland also reported no deaths and the total remains on 13.

NHS figures today showed a Lincolnshire death at a United Lincolnshire Hospitals Trust facility registered on October 13.

However, the government's own death tally, which includes those both in and out of hospitals and those of residents in hospitals outside the county, showed no further new deaths.

Nationally, cases increased by 17,234 to 634,920 while deaths jumped by 143 to 43,018.

Yesterday, Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced a new three-tier lockdown system dividing the nation into medium (tier 1), high (tier 2) and very high (tier 3) level areas.

Rutland and Melton MP Alicia Kearns has confirmed that Rutland remains in the tier one 'medium' level, which means restrictions, such as the Rule of 6 and 10pm pub closures carry on as now, without further measures imposed such as in Nottinghamshire, which has been classed as 'high.'

Rutland's total of 223 is equivalent to a rate of 558.5 cases per 100,000.

The 4,362 for Lincolnshire is equivalent to 573 cases per 100,000 of population.

This compares with an England average of 960.1 cases per 100,000 of population, based on its 540,396 cases.

Leicester now reports 8119 cases, or 2292.1 per 100,000. This is an increase of 80 today.

This figure gives a rate more than four times that of Lincolnshire and around five times that of South Kesteven. It is more than five times the Rutland rate.

Leicestershire now has 6392 confirmed cases (up 178 today), giving a rate of 905.2 cases per 100,000.

Melton is up 11 to 338 today, with a rate today of 679.6 cases per 100,000.

Peterborough is up 90 to 2164 or 1040.3 cases per 100,000.

South Holland is up 8 today, with a rate of 873.5 cases per 100,000.
