A number of road signs marking the boundary of a county have gone missing.

The Rutland county boundary signs on the roads between Braunston and Knossington, Braunston and Withcote and Knossington and Oakham were reported as having vanished last week.

Cllr Kiloran Heckels informed the police of the missing signs, triggering an appeal to the public for any additional information on the case.

A spokesperson for the council said: "The council understands that these signs are an important part of Rutland's identity and are valued by both residents and visitors.

"We are looking into the circumstances surrounding their disappearance and assessing the affected locations."
