Months of Rutland road closure starts today

By The Editor 15th Apr 2021

Part of a major road passing through a Rutland village will now be closed from today until early July.

The closure of a section of the A6003 near the village of Manton is due to extensive bridge repair work being carried out by Network Rail costing £2.8M.

The railway infrastructure manager is to carry out demolition and rebuilding works on the railway bridge just north of Manton Top, as previously reported by Nub News.

The work must be carried out under a full road closure, affecting the section of the A6003 that runs between Manton and Egleton.

A diversion will be in place and clearly signposted while works are ongoing. Details of the diversion are set out in the Temporary Road Closure Notice that accompanies these works.

For more information on the road closure and diversion route, you can go to the one.network website here.

This will affect the Rutland Flyer 1 Bus operated by Centrebus.

You can find more information on this here.
