Make Valentine’s Day special with a romantic dinner at Oakham’s The George Inn

By Grace Kennington   20th Jan 2026

If you are stuck at what to do for date night or want to try something new, head to The George Inn on Oakham's Market Square this Valentine's Day for a romantic night of delicious food and drink.

On Friday 13 and Saturday 14 February, The George will be serving up a special menu for £60 per person.

Upon arrival, enjoy a chilled glass of prosecco, followed by a choice of one of their sharing starter boards.

For main, tuck into butter poached lobster with bisque risotto, parmesan shard and chilli oil, fillet steak with black pepper gratin potato, asparagus spears and garlic and herb butter, or blue cheese baked gnocchi served with rocket, walnut pesto and apple salad.

For dessert, they have three beautifully crafted sharing desserts. Guests can choose from a raspberry and white chocolate mess, Bailey's cheesecake or a cheeseboard.

This will be followed by freshly brewed coffee to end the evening.

They also have a few special offers available for Valentine's Day, including one diner eating free in booking for four for the Valentine's Day set menu.

If you are looking for a romantic getaway, enjoy a one-night stay for two, including breakfast and a three-course meal for only £200 per couple.
