Last day to register to vote for Rutland residents
Today, Tuesday 18 June, is your last chance to register to vote and ensure that you can have your say in the upcoming UK Parliamentary General Election being held on Thursday 4 July.
Residents must be on the electoral register to be able to vote in July.
Rutland County Council is urging all Rutland and Stamford constituents, who are not registered at their current address, to make sure they are registered before the deadline, midnight on Tuesday 18 June.
It takes just five minutes to apply online.
If you have recently turned 18 or moved home, it is particularly important to make sure you are correctly registered to vote. If you're in doubt, you can check with us by contacting [email protected] or calling 01572 720 954
Voters should also remember that they will need to bring photo ID to the polling station to be able to vote. A list of accepted forms of ID is available on the Electoral Commission's website.
Those that do not have eligible ID can apply for free voter ID, you have until 5pm on 26 June to apply.
Please note the deadline to apply for a new postal or postal proxy vote or to change an existing postal or postal proxy vote is 5pm on 19 June. The deadline to apply for proxy votes (not emergency or postal proxy votes) is 5pm on 26 June.
