Cocktail of the Week: Strawberry Daiquiri
Oakham Nub News has joined forces with a regular reader to share a 'Cocktail of the Week' feature.
Josh here, and I hope that you have all had a good week.
This week's cocktail is the Strawberry Daiquiri. British strawberries are in season now, making this a great summer cocktail - even though the weather hasn't been quite so summery this week!
The daiquiri is named after the Southend Town in Cuba, meaning that it is a rum based cocktail, usually including a citrus juice.
Therefore we need:
- 50ml of rum a good classic white rum
- A splash of Overproof gives it a kick - Whay and Nephew, 15ml
- 10ml sugar suryp
- Juice of 1 lime
- 8 strawberries
Method:
- Cut the tops off of your strawberries
- Add them to a blender with all of your ingredients and a few ice cubes.
- Blend and pour into a coupe glass.
- Garnish with a strawberry and enjoy!
Check back next week for another Cocktail of the Week, shared each Friday to get the party started.
