The second Rutland Jigsaw Festival is now launched and we are looking forward to the 2020 event.

Originally the event was to be called Oakham Jigsaw Festival, but so many people wanted to take part it was decided to call it The Rutland Jigsaw Festival.

The 2019 festival - the first - included villages and towns in the county and beyond.

Those listed to date are Oakham, Uppingham, Seaton, Whissendine, Langham, Market Overton, Burley on the Hill, and Thistleton.

Help from further afield - South Witham, Pickwell, Stamford, Knossington, Old Dalby and Earl Shilton - was also much appreciated.

The festival is sponsored by Gibsons Games and the added attraction of a Jigsaw Competition is sponsored by Gates Garden Centre, which has donated a prize of £100 in garden vouchers.

The dates for the 2020 festival are Easter weekend, 11 to 13 April, and it will be held in the ballroom of the Victoria Hall, High Street, Oakham.

All proceeds will go towards Oakham in Bloom's flower displays.

Festival organiser Joyce Lucas said: "We need more helpers to assemble the jigsaws as well as donations of boxed puzzles if we want to meet our target of 300 completed jigsaws for 2020." says organiser, Joyce Lucas.

You can contact Joyce by calling 01572 755718 or email her at lucashackgreen @aol.com.
