Arson investigation launched after car set on fire in Uppingham

Police have launched an arson investigation after a car was set alight in Uppingham.

Leicestershire Police received a report that three males had set the Kia Sportage on fire on Sunday (17 Nov), shortly after 8.30pm.

An appliance from Uppingham Fire Station attended the incident in Hornbeam Lane and used a hose reel to put out the blaze.

A Leicestershire Police spokesman told Oakham Nub News: "The incident is being investigated as arson.

"Significant fire damage was caused to the car."
