Burglars escaped with a haul of jewellery and cash after breaking into a house in Oakham.

Thieves forced a front window to gain entry to the property in Stamford Road on Friday (15 Nov) sometime between 5.30pm and 9.30pm.

A Leicestershire Police spokesman told Oakham Nub News: "Jewellery, gold rings, charm bracelets, cash, passports and a small safe were taken.

"No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing."

Last month two homes in Stamford Road were targeted by burglars in one day. All the properties were secure and the thieves broke in through doors or windows to gain access.
