Cigarettes worth £4000 were stolen from an A1 service station in Rutland in the early hours of today.

Leicestershire and Rutland Police are seeking information concerning the burglary at 2.45am.

It was reported that four men forced entry to the service station near Stretton and stole £4,000 worth of cigarettes.

All the men were described as wearing hooded tops and one of those was a camouflage patterned jacket.

They ran away from the scene in the direction of The Shires school.

Detective Constable Sophie Young said: "The service station is on a major route through the region with plenty of traffic even early in the morning.

"We are asking anyone who was driving in the area around the time of the incident with a dash cam to please check their footage to see if they captured these men."
