A 'parody' Rutland County Council Twitter account has been set up

A fake council Twitter account has been reported by Rutland County Council.

The fake or self-professed 'parody' Rutland Council account has been reported less than 24 hours after being set up.

The fake account description reads: "The twitter account for Rutland County Council. Answers and updates. contact us on 01572 772 577 or [email protected] (parody account)"

The unknown individual behind the account has shared a host of joking posts, including:

Here at Rutland county council we are aiming for zero carbon emissions by June 2023 so starting in march we will no longer be allowing cars into Oakham only horse or oxen and cart. pic.twitter.com/y8mGLr4S6C

The fake account has the user name @rutlandcouncill, an extra 'L' at the end of the Twitter handle.
