Speaking about the competition, Kearns said: 'There's no better eyes to see Christmas through than those of our children. Judging their wonderful entries is always one of my favourite traditions on the run-up to Christmas - although I have to admit I also mind it one of the toughest as they're all so good I become indecisive.

'But more than seeing the designs, getting to surprise the children with their special Parliament teddy bears as a thank you is the most heart warming of all.

'The surprise and joy on their faces is the embodiment of Christmas.'
