Rutland MP Alicia Kearns has relaunched her local effort to get people talking about dementia.

After taking a break during the election, Kearns is excited to announce the initiatives re-launch across the county.

She said: 'I'm looking forward to re-starting Rutland's county-wide conversation to drive up our diagnosis rates and ensure our communities are as supportive as possible of all those living with dementia and caring for a loved one with the condition.'

Included as part of the initiative, the Alzheimer's Society is running three 'Dementia Friends Information Sessions' next month. In a one hour-long session, attendees will gain a better understanding of dementia and understand how to better support individuals with the condition.

Kearns will be holding market stalls in Oakham and Uppingham in October, and she teased that a special guest will be visiting Rutland as part of this new initiative.
