A man has been arrested this week thanks to the quick actions of store staff and an off-duty police officer in Oakham.

The male has since been charged with theft and will be appearing in court for this offence.

Leicestershire Police say the suspect is "not local and had clearly decided to come to Oakham for the purposes of committing crime, hopefully the swift action of store staff and the off-duty officer will deter him from returning to Oakham in the future!"
