Rutland County Council's upcoming Autumn Business Summit will help local businesses and traders adjust to conditions after Brexit.

The council is inviting representatives from local businesses in the area to attend the free event, being held at Greetham Valley Hotel from 8am to 11.15am on Wednesday, 6 November.

The summit will look at how the UK's departure from the EU stands to affect local businesses, as well as providing delegates with information and practical advice.

Guest speaker Ian Harrison will provide an update from the Department for International Trade. Mr Harrison is Head of Exports for the Department for International Trade and a member of the Society of Business Economics.

There will also be networking opportunities, offering delegates the chance to discuss the main issues and topics affecting their businesses.

Councillor Oliver Hemsley, Leader of Rutland County Council and Cabinet Member for Growth, said: "This is a pivotal and potentially very challenging time for all local businesses.

"We want to help businesses with the information they need to respond to Brexit, as well as making them aware of the help and advice that's readily available to them.

"We're delighted to welcome Ian Harrison as guest speaker for the summit.

"Mr Harrison is hugely knowledgeable about domestic and international business, with more than 25 years' experience supporting to organisations of all sizes.

"We'd urge businesses in the area to sign up for what should be an invaluable and very informative morning."
