Back British Farming Day: Alicia Kearns MP speaks out in support of Rutland’s farmers

Launched in 2016, Back British Farming Day happens on 10 September to show support the British food and farming sector.
The National Farmers' Union (NFU) represent more than 46,000 farming and growing businesses and hope to highlight the importance of agriculture to communities and the economy to the government.
MP for Rutland and Stamford Alicia Kearns has shared a statement in support of British Farming to mark Back British Farming Day.
She said: 'On Back British Farming Day, we are celebrating our incredible farmers and their contribution to our economy, food production and rural way of life.
'Farming isn't just a job – it's a way of life. No matter the weather or season, our farmers work around the clock to keep our countryside thriving and our tables full of high quality food.
'I'm proud to stand by our British farmers, particularly in what has been an extremely tough year for thousands of family farms.
'Thank you to all our farmers across Rutland, Stamford, Harborough, South Kesteven villages – today and every day!'
