A Leicestershire Police spokesman told Oakham Nub News: "On Thursday, 12 December, police received a report of burglary at an address in The Quadrant, Uppingham.

"It is believed to have happened shortly after 3am and was reported that a set of car keys had been taken from the property, but no vehicle was removed.

"On Friday, 13 December, a report was received stating a vehicle was stolen from an address in Station Road, Seaton.

"It was reported the keys stolen on 12 December belonged to the vehicle which was taken - a blue BMW carrying the registration RO14 FHH."
