Border Vintage brings back clothing charity fundraiser to Rutland

By The Editor 14th Oct 2020

Border Vintage is back this week offering vintage and modern retro womenswear from £5

This Friday, from 7-9pm, the pop up charity shop will be open at Ruth Hudson Studio, Unit 19 Chater Business Estate, Ketton.

The shop promises 'guilt free' shopping while raising funds for Cancer Research UK.

Tiffany Arnston of Border Vintage told Nub News: "Border Vintage is an edit of the best vintage clothing handpicked from donations made to Cancer Research UK stores across Lincolnshire and Cambridgeshire, and sold in dedicated Border Vintage Pop-Up Shops.

"By doing the legwork sorting and curating the rails for each Pop-Up, the team make it easier for fans to find interesting pieces, at a great price, while supporting the charity."

With eight pop-ups since launching in 2018, Border Vintage claims a firm following of fans, both vintage lovers and supporters of the charity, helping to raise thousands of pounds.

Tiffany continued: "The Pop-Ups are usually held on Saturdays and attendance has been fantastic, with a variety of locals enjoying the nostalgia of clothing from times gone past and the excitement of finding a great new/old piece. The last Pop-Up raised in September raised over £1,000 with all funds going to Cancer Research UK.

"But for some fans, Saturdays aren't great, especially for those who work weekends, or with kids to look after. Those fans have been asking for an evening Pop-Up and this Friday, it's happening! Thanks to local print artist and vintage fan Ruth Hudson, Border Vintage will be popping up in her new studio in Ketton, just outside of Stamford.

"With full Covid-19 safety measures in place, the studio will have one wall open to circulate fresh air, and a gazebo outside for those waiting to browse. Payment is by card or cash with all proceeds going to Cancer Research UK."
