A brand new speed camera van will be on display at the Rutland County Show this weekend.

On Sunday 4 June, the Rutland County Show will take place, and in attendance will be a range of stalls, activities, games, displays, heavy horses, livestock exhibitions and more.

Local groups, suppliers and organisations from across Rutland and Leicestershire will be exhibiting the latest and greatest innovations in their field, and one of these exhibitors will be the local rural policing and road safety partnership team.

Colleagues from the local policing and road safety teams will be bringing along a brand new speed camera van in a public reveal of the new equipment.

A spokesperson from the Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland Road Safety Partnership said: "Our brand new speed camera van will be on display to the public for the first time this weekend at the Rutland Show.

"The Ford Transit van, which joins our existing fleet of five vehicles, boasts all wheel drive which will allow better access to roadside locations during the autumn and winter months. In addition, forward facing and infrared camera technology will enhance the ability to identify offending motorcycles while also improving the ability to monitor all vehicles during darker evenings.

"The new camera van will improve our ability to deliver speed enforcement, particularly on the seasonal motorcycle routes such as the A6003 between Oakham and Caldecott, and our "core" routes such as the A47 which runs through the County.

The team will be in the Blue Light Zone of the show this Sunday from 10:30am until 1:30pm displaying the new vehicle, answering questions, and getting in touch with the local community.
