Uppingham's Co-op have donated £150 to Youth Space Uppingham.

Yesterday, Wednesday 31 May, the team from Youth Space Uppingham accepted a donation of £150 from their local Co-op.

Youth Space Uppingham is a local group that host a free Youth Space for 11-16 year olds every Wednesday from 3:15-5:00pm at Uppingham Town Hall.

It is a safe space where young people can meet and make friends, craft, play games, learn new skills and enjoy food and drinks. All volunteers at the project are DBS checked and are passionate about supporting the younger members of the community.

They also host one-off workshops, sessions and meet-and-greets with creatives, artists and inspirational individuals.

This month the team are hosting:

  • 7 June - Book signing with Nicola Morgan
  • 14 June - Art session with Rose Thorn
  • 21 June - Dance workshop with Frankie Ainge

All of these sessions are free and take place from 3:15 - 5pm on Wednesday afternoons.

The team rely on local support to run, and have, this week, accepted a donation of £150 from their local Co-op.

They said: "We would like to say a MASSIVE 'thank you' to the Co-op who have supported the Youth Space with £150 to buy extra resources for the teens.

"It is very much appreciated and will definitely help. We look forward to working with the co-op in the future."

Find out how to register your child, or how you can volunteer with the group, on their website.
