Casterton College GCSE students have notched up the best results in the school's history.

In a statement, the college says: "Today we celebrate a wonderful set of GCSE results and congratulate our students on their fantastic achievements.

"They are the best results in the college's history.

"Year 11 have had so much to cope with this year that we don't want to single out individuals, but we pay tribute to them for everything they have had to endure over the last few months.

"They may have missed out on all the normal rituals of leaving secondary school, but they leave us with a great future ahead of them and so much to look forward to.

"Casterton has been the highest performing secondary school in Rutland and Stamford for many years and we are confident it will remain so for many to come, but today is about our wonderful year 11 and we couldn't be more delighted for them."
