Temporary changes are in place on a section of the footpath around Rutland Water while repairs are made following floods.

Ongoing works continue to take place between Egleton and Manton following recent track erosion caused by flooding.

Closures are in place between Monday and Friday until further notice.

Visitors are advised to take this into consideration if they are planning to complete a full circuit of the reservoir.

The full circuit including the peninsula is approximately 23 miles, or 17 miles excluding it, and passes through Whitwell, Edith Weston and Rutland Sailing Club and, of course, Egleton and Manton. Walkers, runners and cyclists can start the route wherever they please, but the team at Rutland Water recommend Whitwell or Normanton.

Until the path reopens, those attempting the route should note that the Egleton-Manton stretch of the route is disrupted.
