Oakham Nub News has teamed up with a reader to share a regular 'Cocktail of the Week' feature, including classics, reinventions of familiar favourites and some crazy concoctions unique to Nub News.

After a week off last week, Josh is back with another cracking cocktail, and this one can easily be made with ingredients that you keep in the fridge!

Josh explains: "The method of muddling uses a blunt tool to squash your base ingredients together to bring out the flavour, and is the inspiration behind the name."

Read on to find out how to make this fresh, sharp, summery beverage.

Ingredients:

  • 6 limes (you can substitute for lemons or even oranges)
  • Mint leaves
  • 50ml vodka or gin
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • Soda or lemonade

Method:

  1. muddle 3 limes, mint leaves and sugar in a shaker
  2. squeeze in the juice of 2 limes
  3. add your ice and vodka or gin - whichever you prefer (tequila also works)
  4. shake over ice
  5. strain into a glass with more ice
  6. Garnish with your last lime, sliced, and mint
