A cold snap is due to hit Oakham this weekend with temperatures plummeting as low as –5 degrees Celsius on Sunday morning. 

From this evening (Friday 2 January), temperatures expected to drop to –2 degrees, which will feel as cold as –7 by 11pm. 

This pattern continues as temperatures drop further on Saturday, dropping down to –3 degrees around 2am, which is expected to feel as cold as –9 degrees with gentle north west breeze. 

In the day on Saturday, temperatures will remain low, feeling like –5 degrees throughout the day before dropping once again late Saturday night and early Sunday morning, feeling once again like –9 degrees. 

Between 4am and 8am Sunday morning, the weather will reach the coldest point, feeling like –10 degrees before rising slowly to –4 degrees as the day goes on. 

The weather on Monday will follow a similar pattern, at –4 degrees (feeling like –9 degrees) by 8am, slowly warming to 0 degrees (feels like –6 degrees) around midday. 

On Tuesday from 9am, temperatures will hopefully return to positive numbers, reaching 2 degrees by 12pm but still feeling like –2 degrees. There is also a risk of rain Tuesday afternoon.
