The roll-out of the Covid-19 vaccines has almost reached another milestone.

Rutland Health says it has now delivered 37558 vaccinations at the Rutland County Council site, which includes 20908 first vaccinations and 16650 second vaccinations.

An update issued yesterday urged people to get their vaccinations, saying there are times when last-minute places become available.

The update said: "We know that Covid vaccination gives some protection against the serious effects of the Delta variant, which is increasing across the UK.

"Rutland Health will be coming to the end of Phase 2 (all adults over 18) of the vaccination programme at Rutland County Council in the next few weeks, so there are several reasons to get your first appointment booked before the end of June.

"If you are a patient of one of the four Rutland GP practices you can book at the Rutland Covid Vaccination Centre by

Rutland Heath also has a Reserve List, which people can also apply to.

They advised: "There are sometimes additional doses of vaccine available at the end of a clinic – we have never wasted vaccine.

"If you would like to be on a reserve list and are able to come at short notice for your first or second vaccination, please email [email protected] giving your name, availability and mobile phone number.

"You will need to be available to respond to a phone call (from a private number) normally after 4pm, and come at short notice the same day, on Saturday 19th June (Pfizer), Tuesday June 22nd,(Pfizer) Wednesday June 23rd(Pfizer) or Thursday June 24th ( AstraZeneca)."
