Four males have been fined in Oakham this weekend after breaching Covid-19 rules.

Rutland Police posted on social media: "These four lads in Oakham didn't realise that the Covid legislation applied to them as well as the rest of the UK population.

"All issued with Covid tickets and now understand their obligations. A bit of common sense & we'll all get through this."

No further details were given.

Earlier yesterday, Rutland Police reported they have also carried out some patrols at Rutland Water and spoke to the wardens.

They added: "Advice is: If you are local, enjoy Rutland Water for your daily exercise only, until the current restrictions are lifted!.."
