Coronavirus crisis: Milestone reached in Rutland, Leicester and Leicestershire vaccine roll-out

More than 700,000 Covid jabs have now been given in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland with more than 150,000 already given their second dose.
In total 705,965 vaccinations have been given across the city, county and Rutland – 554,858 have now had their first dose.
Some 151,107 residents are now fully vaccinated having received their second doses.
The latest data – up to an including April 18 – and shows that there have been 55,159 more jabs since the last update.
The number of people who have received their first dose by age group is:
Over 80s: 50,869

Under 45: 24,650Younger age groups include NHS, health and social care workers and clinically vulnerable patients.

An evening clinic will be held at a city mosque this Ramadan to make it easier for eligible people who are fasting to receive their Covid-19 jab, it has been confirmed.
The pop-up clinic will be held at Leicester Islamic Centre, also known as Leicester Central Mosque on Conduit Street, Highfields, on Saturday, April 24 from 5pm until 9pm.
Held on a drop-in basis, the clinic will invite people to receive their first vaccine without requiring an appointment.
