Coronavirus crisis: Oakham Neighbours support community with prescription deliveries

By The Editor 4th May 2020

Oakham Neighbours, a group of volunteers helping the community, is busy collecting and delivering prescriptions across Oakham.

Founder Julie Coleman says the service is by arrangement with Oakham Medical Practice, the pharmacies and Rutland County Council.

Julie told Oakham Nub News: "Anyone who has a pre-paid or free prescription from any of the pharmacies in Oakham can ring 01572 842 079 or email [email protected] to arrange home delivery by our volunteer team. Using this service benefits everyone by reducing queues."

Barleythorpe residents can arrange for prescription delivery online.

Julie continued: "Our teams of volunteers across Oakham and Barleythorpe are keen to help anyone who's finding shopping or other errands difficult because of health conditions, age or personal circumstances. Please don't hesitate to ask.

"We're also putting local residents in touch with each other for social contact by phone or online. If you're lonely or bored, let us know and we'll find someone nearby who'd like to chat."
