Rutland MP Alicia Kearns has launched a campaign to find the county's 'unsung heroes'.

The MP says hundreds of individuals and organisations have told her what they are doing to help during the current crisis and she wants to share their good works with the county.

Alicia said: "The first organisation to be rightly recognised for simply outstanding national spirit are Rutland Plastics Limited, whose plastic injection moulding company is producing medical equipment in response to the outbreak of COVID-19.

"I have just learned that their medical equipment will be used in the Nightingale Ward at the Excel. So, a huge thank you to everyone at Rutland Plastics whose hard work will literally save lives. You are a credit to your families, our community and indeed our country.

"In such an uncertain time, it is truly uplifting to be reminded of the unwavering strength of our communities, so if you know of a person or organisation working to help our community who you believe deserves recognition, send me an email to [email protected]"

Rutland Plastics said in response: "Thank you Alicia, that's a great mention and so much appreciated. We're in this together with all manufacturers nationwide, pushing on and doing what we can."
