Coronavirus crisis: Rutland cases double in two days

The number of Coronavirus cases in Rutland has doubled in just two days.

Figures released by Public Health England show that in the 24 hours hours to yesterday, the number of confirmed and reported cases had risen from three to four.

The previous 24 hours had seen an increase from two to three.

Rutland's first Coronavirus case was reported on Friday March 27.

As yet, there are no reports of any deaths from Coronavirus in Rutland.

Meanwhile, three more people have died of Coronavirus in Lincolnshire, bringing the total to nine.

The deaths comes as official government figures show a sharp rise in the number of cases in Lincolnshire from 104 to 133.

Peterborough still has 36 confirmed cases.

Leicestershire saw an increase of 24 cases to 187 and Nottinghamshire saw an increase of 57 cases to 275.

Nationally, there are 29,474 cases, an increase of 4,324 from the 25,150 reported on Tuesday.

The number of deaths reported on Wednesday afternoon increased over the past 24 hours by 563 from 1,789 to 2,352.
