Earlier this week, trustees of Oakham's historic Victoria Hall announced the building would be going up for auction, citing struggling finances.
The hall was previously a cornerstone of Oakham's community but constantly increasing costs, pricy repairs and failed plans to move Oakham Town Council's offices all led to the hall's closure.
Victoria Hall will be going up for public auction on 28 October with BTG Eddisons Property Auctions, with the guide price set at £225,000.
Currently, Mucky Pups Dog Groomers let a small unit with separate access within the hall for, according to BTG Eddisons, £350 per month.
The hall includes three offices, a plant room, main hall on the first floor, a kitchen and staff room, as well as the external unit occupied by Mucky Pups.
According to the auction website, they feel Grade II listed hall dating back to the early 19th century 'has scope for a variety of uses such as weddings, arts and entertainment or even education.'
The auction will take place over live stream on 28 October.
