Rutland has topped a table for Covid-19 vaccinations among the elderly.

Government figures reveal a take up of 99.50 per cent of over 70s in the ear covered by North East Leicestershire and Rutland Clinical Commissioning Group.

Rutland MP Alicia Kearns has commented on social media: "Nowhere in the country has as high an uptake of the vaccine as Leicestershire and Rutland amongst over 70s.

"Thank you to every single person who has stepped forward to be vaccinated and to all those running, administering and volunteering in, the vaccine programme."

Earlier this week, Rutland Health Primary Care Network said it has so far administered more than 8,000 first vaccinations, as previously reported by Nub News, but fresh deliveries of vaccine had not arrived.
