The annual Boxing Day meet hosted by Cottesmore Hunt will not be held at Cutts Close, Oakham, this year.

Following backlash from local people in December 2021, Rutland County Council axed the traditional event last Boxing Day, with many branding this action 'cancel culture' while others celebrated the decision.

As a result, the annual Cottesmore Hunt be held at Exton Park this Boxing Day, December 26 2022.

Entrance to the park is through the white gates off the Barnsdale to Cottesmore road.

On the day, those in attendance will be encouraged to participate in a collection in support of the local charity, For Rutland.

For Rutland provide non-medical advice to people of all ages living with long-term health conditions in Rutland and the Surrounding Community.

They do so by hosting a range of events throughout the year, including new and good clothes sales, an annual tombola, running and sporting events and more.

The hunt begins at 11am on Monday 26 December 2022.
