Oakham police have caught dozens of speeding drivers this weekend.

Police today reported that this morning they undertook speed checks on the A606 at Burley Park Way this morning after a few requests from the public due to concerns over motorcyclists.

An officer said on twitter today: "In one hour, on a Sunday morning, I caught 27 vehicles not abiding to the speed limit and not one of those vehicles was a motorcycle."

Yesterday, police conducted speedchecks on the A606 at Barnsdale.

Oakham Police also commented: "We are disappointed in the amount of vehicles we have already caught speeding. Please slow down."
