Draft Local Plan to reach public consultation stage following Council review
Rutland County Council's Cabinet is to review a draft version of the county's new Local Plan at its next meeting on Tuesday 17 October.
Cabinet Members will be asked to give approval for an eight-week public consultation on the Plan, to take place from 13 November 2023 to 8 January 2024.
This latest stage of the Local Plan process is known as the Regulation 18 or Preferred Options stage and represents the biggest opportunity for residents to shape the final plan before its submission to the national Planning Inspectorate in 2025.
This follows on from an earlier Issues and Options consultation, held in summer 2022, which asked people in Rutland how they would choose to tackle a wide range of planning issues and proposed options for the future development of the county.
Once adopted, Rutland's Local Plan will set out the County Council's policies to address housing and employment needs and other associated economic, social and environmental priorities.
The agenda and reports for Rutland County Council's Cabinet meeting on Tuesday 17 October 2023 can be found online, along with a copy of the Preferred Options Local Plan and details of how to follow the meeting live online.
The Council cannot consider any comments or feedback on the Preferred Options Local Plan submitted prior to formal consultation getting underway.
